The freedom to be yourself...

Longforth House is based in Wellington, Somerset. We provide specialist dementia care and respite for people under 65, who have a diagnosis of dementia or similar illness. We also care for people with low level and enduring mental health needs who can benefit from our recovery based approach. We take referrals from private clients and Somerset Partnership Mental Health Team.

Our attitude is refreshingly positive: we will provide as much support as you need, without taking away your independence. Itís a cheery and friendly environment here, with plenty of entertainment and activities tailored to your individual needs. We will assist you with your daily chores, and involve you in all aspects of life in the house. With only 10 bedrooms, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming and personal.

Each of our self-contained rooms is generously proportioned and has an en suite wet room. You can bring along your own furniture and possessions, and every room has wireless internet access, a telephone point and Freeview TV.

There are plenty of communal social areas and a patio garden where you can sit with family and friends or just read quietly. You can potter in the garden or greenhouse, be creative in our arts and crafts workshop, play pool or watch sky TV or just take a stroll to the town centre where you can explore the local amenities.

All meals are provided, although we encourage you to be involved in the preparation of breakfast and tea.

Family and other visitors are always welcome and can join you for meals or a cuppa anytime.

Respite Care is also available and can be booked through our link nurse, Kate Graham, on 01278 720209.
